"All staff at Beswicks were very professional in all my dealings, but I do have to recognise Laura Barsby in particular. In my feedback for John Lewis I wrote the following: Laura Barsby has been absolutely fantastic during what was quite a complex conclusion to my relocation. Her communication was always regular and salient, but in addition she really delivered the human touch; I felt like a friend rather than just another client. In Laura’s absence, both Charlotte and Oliver were equally as professional. I can certainly understand why the Partnership uses Beswick’s as its relocation agent."

More glowing feedback for our valued team "Great initial contact that left me understanding the process and was handled with great professionalism and efficiency so I was really confident of the whole relocation programme….. I always felt that Beswicks and I had the same view point and I found the advice / observations about the agents was spot on. You managed them very well on my behalf!... Alison (and then Robin) were suberb. I'd go as far as saying that it was the best customer service that I've ever had. Communication superb, a really friendly and approachable style but always slick and efficient….Always responded as and when I called with relevant info. I rarely had to call as they just seemed to know when the right time was to update me! Really fair and sound advice on our purchase too. Couldn't have imagined a better experience and I can't think of anything to improve it...!"

What made them great was their personal approach, I genuinely felt they really cared about the process and went out of their way to help me - they provided great advice and were really straight forward to deal with. Jonathan Heslop IS a saint. I cannot think of enough ways to tell you what an amazing person he is, he even went in on New Years Eve to complete on the sale. Budget - Stamp Duty changes
Stamp duty on sales up to the value of £250,000 will be suspended for those buying their first property this year and next (25 March 2010 to 25 March 2012). All other buyers will pay the usual stamp duty of 1% for purchases over £125,000 to £250,000. All purchases over £250,000 and up to £500,000 remain unaffected at 3% as well as those purchases for those over £500,000 at 4% of the total value. Proposal are however planned for an increase in stamp duty to 5% for properties costing more than £1m subject to Labour reaming in power after the next general election.

Beswick Relocation Services were proud to exhibit at the CIPD conference in November. By presenting our services to our existing clients and a new audience this has allowed us to announce new products, services and solutions in an informal and open surrounding. On-line area guides, remote database access for clients, employees and suppliers, enhanced Settlement Programmes were just some of the new areas we demonstrated in addition to our current core products. We sincerely thank many of our existing clients who were able to visit and support us over the three days. Another positive move undertaken by Beswick Relocation for a Waitrose Limited Partner " I felt all parties in the office were excellent at responding. There was a welcoming and friendly telephone matter. I felt that the office staff responded with rapport as if they knew me personally.... I think that the receptionists in the office made me feel very special when I phoned. As stated they spoke to me as if they knew me, I thought this was a really nice touch."

Bank of England Base Rate
The Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee voted today to reduce the Bank Rate to 3.00%, a reduction of 1.50% from 4.50%

The Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee today voted at a special meeting to reduce the official Bank Rate to 4.5%, a reduction of 0.50%. Some UK mortgage lenders also immediately passed on the rate cut to borrowers - trimming variable rates.

Home Information Packs
Properties instructed for sale from 14 December 2007 in England and Wales will need a Home Information Pack (HIP). The Government continues with this introduction despite protest from many sectors of the property related sector of it having the reverse effect to which it was intended to have.

Properties already on the market prior to the relevant commencement date (i.e. 1 August 2007 for sales of homes with four or more bedrooms; 10 September 2007 for those with three or more bedrooms and 14 December for all properties) do not need to have a HIP. At this stage no such date has been set when all properties that are on the market will be required to have a HIP.

Average house price hits £200,000
The government's official house price index, published by the Department for communities and Local council, says prices were rising at 9.9% a year in December 2006, up from 8.8% in November 2006. This pushes the average UK house price up to £201,090. Substantial variances exist between areas of the UK, with East Midlands rising just 6.1%, London regions 11.8% and Northern Ireland 39.9%!! Employers often experience difficulties in asking their employees to move to higher value areas, there is a range of solutions and support packages open for consideration, balancing fairness against budget control.
